About the IMRF Maritime SAR Academy Learning Platform:
The IMRF Maritime SAR Academy Learning Platform offers a central hub for learning, training and knowledge sharing and where the materials are designed to be accessible, engaging, informative and relevant.
The Academy does not provide a certification scheme that results in a level of occupational or operational competence, but it will support individuals who are wanting to develop their SAR skills, offer opportunities for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and signpost them to places where further information and learning resources can be found.

Why We Use AI Video and Other AI‑Enhanced Content in Our E‑Learning Modules:
The IMRF Maritime SAR Academy uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated video and other AI supported content to enhance the learning experience, increase accessibility and support consistent delivery across our global community.
AI allows us to present complex SAR concepts in a clear, visual and engaging way, especially when real‑world footage is unavailable, sensitive, or impractical to obtain.
AI tools help us to:
Visualise scenarios that would be difficult or unsafe to film in reality
Standardise explanations so that all learners receive the same high‑quality guidanc
Accelerate module development, allowing us to update content quickly as SAR practices evolve
Support multilingual and inclusive learning, offering narration and visual aids that help learners with different backgrounds and learning styles
Importantly, AI content is always used to support learning, not to replace it. All AI videos, animations, and enhancements are optional and not required to successfully complete any module. Learners can choose the format that works best for them and all essential knowledge is fully accessible without reliance on AI‑generated elements.
Our goal is to use AI responsibly and transparently, as a tool that strengthens understanding, improves accessibility and helps us deliver high‑quality SAR learning to the global community.
